LeBron James cheered on Serena Williams in U.S. Open final loss

LeBron James The Sports Fan had a pretty good start to his Saturday with his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes cruising to a 42-0 win over Cincinnati, but his day of fandom took a turn for the worse when it came to the women’s final at the U.S. Open in New York. Bianca Andreescu pulled off an incredible upset on Saturday afternoon as she knocked off the legendary Serena Williams in the final of the U.S. Open.

Williams lost in the first set 6-3 and nearly came back in the second set, when LeBron was trying to cheer her on.

James’ support and that of everyone hoping that Williams would tie the all-time record for grand slam victories. However, that will have to wait until at least next year when the next tennis grand slams begin once again. It’s the second consecutive year in which Williams has finished as the runner-up in the U.S. Open.
