LeBron James campaigns for Deion Sanders to get Florida State job

Midway through another lost season in Tallahassee, Florida State fired head coach Willie Taggart on Sunday, following the Seminoles’ disappointing loss to rival Miami. Taggart posted a 9-12 record at Florida State after arriving as Jimbo Fisher’s replacement, and Florida State is in danger of missing a bowl game for the second consecutive season.

According to Ian Rapoport, former Florida State star and NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders is a serious candidate to take over the vacant position. Sanders is obviously beloved by the fanbase, but his lack of coaching experience outside youth football makes him a questionable choice for a program with sky-high expectations that is looking to rebound.

The Sanders to FSU movement is gaining strength however, thanks in part to Ohio State superfan LeBron James. On Friday afternoon, James tweeted that hiring Sanders would be the “PERFECT” move for Florida State.
