LeBron James calls out NCAA, supports Rich Paul after rule changes

LeBron James sees right through the NCAA’s latest rule changes regarding the eligibility of potential NBA draftees. As soon as reports about the changes leaked, the rules instantly were referred to as “The Rich Paul Rule.'”

James shared screenshots of stories over the years that highlight why the NCAA and other powers-that-be are afraid of his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports. But LeBron refused to shy away from the story. He also seemed to enjoy that the NCAA — which he’s called out in interviews, a documentary and even a song on the album he executive produced with 2Chainz, who played college basketball — seems to feel threatened by Paul.

But while the NCAA appears to be undercutting Paul, the body is probably incapable of stopping his considerable influence. For starters, Klutch recently partnered with Hollywood talent giant United Talent Agency to open their sports division.

LeBron also seemed to send one of his classic coded messages to the NCAA, to the tune of Justin Timberlake’s “What Goes Around … Comes Around.”

The reaction from NBA players, both ones who are represented by Klutch and those who are not, has been one of overwhelming support for Rich Paul after the NCAA’s latest rule changes meant to control young players coming up through their system.
