LeBron James blasts NCAA over Chase Young situation

Ohio State star Chase Young’s Heisman Trophy campaign has come to a sudden and unexpected end, as Ohio State reportedly expects the junior defensive end to receive a four-game suspension over a loan he received from a family friend in 2018.

Ohio State held Young out of Saturday’s game against Maryland to avoid any possible future sanctions as it awaits the NCAA’s resolution. Young explained the issue in a tweet on Friday, and wrote that received the loan and repaid it in 2018.  It has since been reported that Young received the loan in order for his girlfriend to be able to travel to see Ohio State play in the Rose Bowl.

According to ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, the Buckeyes expect Young to be ruled out for four games, but hope that the suspension may be reduced given Young’s cooperation and good standing as a student. No. 1 Ohio State plays No. 4 Penn State in two weeks, so the length of the suspension is critical.

Ohio State fan LeBron James spoke out about Young’s situation on Twitter and blasted the NCAA.
