LeBron James and other star players want to play when NBA OK’s return

While the NBA waits for the proper conditions, at least in their eyes when it comes to restarting the season, the star players who draw the eyes of the audience had their own discussion about whether they will want to return to the floor and how they are going to present that front to the rest of the rank-and-file players in the union.

Yahoo’s Chris Haynes reported on Tuesday afternoon that Player’s Association president Chris Paul held a private conference call with other star players such as LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Steph Curry, Damian Lillard, and Russell Westbrook, who all agreed that they would prefer to play games once the NBA gives them the go-ahead.

Toward the end of the call discussing the ramifications of the coronavirus pandemic, all parties were in agreement to take the court with proper safety measures once the league is given the green light to commence, sources said.

Earlier in the day, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that NBPA player reps were informally asking players in their regions whether they wanted to resume the season with a ‘yes or no,’ question. The league is currently trying to get a better idea of the rest of players outside of the stars, but the league’s best players clearly want to try and salvage the season in some form, as do other players who may not be able to play in a postseason tournament, due to the potentially drastic financial ramifications of a canceled season.
