LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo both out Tuesday

The ides of March are here in the NBA and two of the league’s best players are opting to rest this Tuesday night rather than go against each other in an otherwise meaningless games. LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo have both been ruled out for tonight’s game between the Lakers and Bucks.

The Lakers are citing the groin that LeBron James injured on Christmas as the reason that he’s missing tonight’s game while Antetokounmpo has a sprained right ankle.

Milwaukee beat the Lakers in L.A. back on March 1, 131-120 when Antetokounmpo was also nursing an injury and on a minutes restriction.

The Lakers had been cutting LeBron’s minutes over the past few games, as well as holding him out of back-to-backs, with the playoffs out of reach, but he did play 35 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Knicks.

Meanwhile, L.A. is three games behind Memphis for the 6th pick in the upcoming draft, according to Tankathon.
