LeBron James and Anthony Davis will not play in Los Angeles Lakers preseason finale on Friday

The preseason schedule has come to a close for LeBron James and his new superstar teammate. Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel announced this afternoon that James and Anthony Davis will not play in Friday’s preseason finale against the Golden State Warriors. LeBron and AD logged roughly 25 minutes each during Wednesday’s 126-93 victory over the Golden State Warriors and are now officially ready for the regular season to begin.

The exciting part about this news is the next time we will see James and Davis take the court for the Lakers will be during a meaningful game. After spending all summer speculating on what this superstar tandem will look like when we’re actually keeping score, we are now only a few days away from beginning to find out. On Tuesday, LeBron and AD will finally tip things off for real against the Los Angeles Clippers.

According to StubHub, the “Battle of Los Angeles” on October 22 is the most sought after ticket in the NBA this season. It will feature the two players the NBA’s general manager survey considered to be the first and second-best in the league in LeBron and Kawhi Leonard alongside Davis and Paul George, respectively. The game, frankly, can’t get here soon enough. In the meantime, LeBron wraps up a preseason slate of games that included four appearances with averages of 15 points and six assists in 20 minutes of work per night.
