LeBron James and Andre Ingram lead Lakers into Chicago

What would have been a road trip full of games for the Lakers to get into the postseason has become what Lakers fans have unfortunately gotten used to over the past few years: tanking for ping pong balls.

LeBron James, Andre Ingram and the Los Angeles Lakers are in Chicago tonight to face off against the lowly Chicago Bulls, in a battle of two suddenly tanktastic organizations. The Lakers have lost five straight and the Bulls have the league’s 4th-worst record at 19-49. But at least the Bulls have won in their past five games, including a 108-107 win over Philadelphia.

According to Tankathon, the Lakers are currently in position for the 11th pick in the upcoming draft but are only three games out of potentially getting into the top six.

LeBron James will continue to play but on a minutes restriction, which appears to be somewhere around 30 minutes. That should give the Lakers plenty of opportunities to lose games that could help them in the lottery later.
