LeBron gets 3rd straight triple-double after Kuzma and Howard lead rally

LeBron James was happy to see Kyle Kuzma “get back into a rhythm” and he credited Kuz, Alex Caruso, Dwight Howard and Quinn Cook with their strong play in helping the Los Angeles Lakers notch their sixth straight victory to improve on their league-best 6-1 record on Tuesday night.

Kuzma, Howard and the Lakers second unit helped push the Lakers to a 118-112 win, powered by a 38-19 fourth quarter run to pull away with the victory. Kuzma scored a season high 15 points, including 11 points in the fourth quarter while Quinn Cook had 17 points off the Lakers bench. Howard once again played more minutes than starting center JaVale McGee, something that has been a staple of the Lakers recent run, playing 23 minutes and adding six points and six rebounds.

LeBron himself couldn’t holdback during a phenomenal second half run by Howard.

Amidst the bench run that LeBron James told NBA TV after the game the Lakers couldn’t win without, James himself was spectacular. The King marked his 3rd straight triple-double, with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists to add to his league-leading assist lead.

Now the Lakers will head back to L.A. for a showdown with the Miami Heat, who have arguably been playing the best basketball of any team in the early season as they led the NBA in point differential heading into Tuesday.
