LeBron drops 23 points and 14 assists to get Lakers consecutive wins for first time since mid-January

The purpose of the season may be gone for LeBron James in his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers, but he likely left the floor at Staples Center feeling a little bit better on Tuesday night. All of that is considering the Lakers and Wizards could both use a sabbatical from the pressure cooker of the postseason. As they have all season, both teams looked like they needed to go home early.

LeBron and the Lakers notched their second straight win, the first time they’ve done that since mid-January, with a 124-106 blowout of the Washington Wizards. James had 23 points, 14 assists and six rebounds while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the Lakers in scoring with 29 points. JaVale McGee also had another solid game with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Although Washington had the best player on the floor for portions of the night in Bradley Beal, the Wizards did not have much in the tank. The Lakers, by comparison, had more. But surely looked like a game where both teams would benefit for some time away.
