LeBron denies report that trust in Lakers organization has been damaged

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin suggested on ESPN 710 AM in L.A. on Tuesday that the way the Los Angeles Lakers have handled the past few weeks has damaged LeBron James’ trust in the organization. This would be in response to Magic Johnson recruiting James to join the Lakers last summer only to resign after one season. It would also obviously include the fact that LeBron is on the outside of the NBA Playoffs looking in for the first time since 2005 among many other potential factors like not currently having a coach.

“I think the trust that LeBron has in the organization has been damaged,” McMenamin said. “Right now it’s a tough bridge that has fallen that’s going to need to be put back together. Whoever’s involved there’s going to have to be an initial thing proven with the coach and free agency.”

But on Wednesday, James denied any rift with the Lakers saying in his Instagram story that those reports which were being further discussed on ESPN were simply not true.

LeBron focused in on the scrolling headline at the bottom of the screen which read, “Dave McMenamin says Lakers have a lot of work to do to repair relationship with LeBron.”

“That is not true!” James says in the video. “Not true at all. I’m actually at the Lakers facility right now. Hahaha!”

So there you have it. No problems between James and the Lakers who currently don’t have a coach, team president, or any playoff games to get ready for this week.
