LeBron credits teammates for latest conference player of the week award

LeBron James won his 62nd career conference player of the week award on Monday. James was honored for the week of Dec. 8-15 when he collided with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks. LeBron’s Los Angeles Lakers won each of those four games by an average of nine points. James scored 29.3 per night while dishing out 10.5 dimes and collecting 9.3 rebounds.

Shortly after he was notified of winning the award, LeBron took to social media to share a message of gratitude for his Laker teammates. He said that he wouldn’t be anything without his teammates while making reference to the washed king and revenge season narratives.

All four of the games that LeBron dominated while winning this award included a double-double performance with at least 25 points. Three of those double-doubles came with 10+ assists while one of them was earned on the glass. James has also helped Anthony Davis make a seamless transition to L.A while leading his team to the best record in the Western Conference heading into the Indiana game.

With the highly-anticipated showdown between the best team in each conference set to tip-off on Thursday in Milwaukee, the Pacers are hoping they can lay a trap-game of sorts at the feet of the Lakers. But if Los Angeles is going to counter with their 15th straight road win, they will need to make sure that Malcom Brogdan and Domantas Sabonis are not able to get going early.
