LeBron comes up big, Vogel makes key 2nd half subs in Lakers first win

On Friday night, everything worked out the way it was supposed to for the Los Angeles Lakers and that was because everybody involved did their job the right way. LeBron James had an awesome 30 point, 10 assist and seven rebound performance while Anthony Davis had 21 points, seven rebounds and five blocks.

But the players were not the only ones to make key moves on Friday night as head coach Frank Vogel made some key substitutions that propelled the Lakers to their huge second half by moving Anthony Davis to the center spot and adding another ball-handler in Alex Caruso to begin the third quarter. The third quarter result was 31-18 in favor of the home team, who finally looked the part of contender.

The Lakers also got another boost off the bench from Troy Daniels, who hit four 3-pointers. Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 24 points on the night but he didn’t get very much help. Mike Conley continues to struggle with his new team, going 3-11 from the field.

Obviously the best part for the Lakers here is the win but they also get the benefit of seeing their schedule ease up for the next 10 games or so, with their next two games coming at home against two teams who will likely be competing for the top pick in Charlotte and Memphis.
