Lebedev's blog boast about high Standards

There's nothing like self-praise. In his most recent blog Alexander Lebedev reposts a blogpost by a young Russian woman living in London who says he has made the London Evening Standard profitable again and describes the paper as an "easy, pleasant, relaxing evening read". Its business model and editorial policy are "brilliant", she writes, while the Standard's journalism is characterised by "great humour" and "soft rightwing leanings". The woman is less kind about other Fleet Street titles. She calls the Financial Times "stiff and full of abstruse analysis". She also says the Standard is less nice to Labour than to the Conservatives. No doubt editor Sarah Sands will be pleased.
