Lebanese MP George Okais announced on Saturday that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The Lebanese Forces lawmaker said his illness was mild and that he was not displaying any symptoms.
He is self-isolating at home.
He said that he took the PCR test on Thursday after a friend, whom he frequently meets, tested positive for the virus.
Okais said he will remain at home for two days before getting tested again on Monday.
The MP urged everyone he had come in contact with during the week to make sure that they were not infected.
