Al-Mustaqbal Movement Secretary-General Ahmed Hariri has said that Prime Minister Saad Hariri will follow up with Belgian authorities the investigation into the murder of a Lebanese child.

The body of Daniel al-Alali, who was murdered last week, was repatriated Wednesday and received by his family.

His father called on the Lebanese authorities to send a delegation to Belgium to follow up on the crime.

Mohammad al-Alali said that he had not been informed of his son’s kidnapping until Wednesday and that he had learned of it through Belgian media.

The 9-year-old boy was staying with his mother in the Broechem asylum seekers’ center, near the northern Belgian port city of Antwerp.

Daniel disappeared Monday, officials said, and his lifeless body was found two days later in a ditch following a search.
