Yet Wednesday's game will not be easy, facing a Villarreal side that stunned Arsenal in the semi-finals, having also comfortably overcome Rb Salzburg, Dynamo Kyiv and Dinamo Zagreb on their way to the final.
Whilst Villarreal's only previous European honours came in the now-defunct Intertoto Cup, manager Unai Emery has a formidable record in the Europa League.
