'Leave it out' - Micah Richards' impassioned rant after Trent Alexander-Arnold snubbed by England

Micah Richards joined the growing chorus of discontent over Trent Alexander-Arnold’s omission from the England squad as he launched into an impassioned rant on the subject.

Liverpool’s home-grown hero was left out by Gareth Southgate for the Three Lions’ trio of World Cup qualifiers later this month against San Marino, Albania and Poland.

The snub has reportedly left the Reds ace “devastated” with his club said to be shocked and bemused by the decision and national team legend Gary Lineker admitted the decision had left him bewildered.

Now former Manchester City and Aston Villa player Richards, a former right-back himself who was capped 13 times for England, has spoken out on the issue by listing a series of points on Instagram why he believes Alexander-Arnold may have been hard done by.

Richards declared in response to the breaking news from Sky Sports: “Not played his best this season but still a top player! Form temporary, class permanent!"

He added in a reply to another Instagram user: “Champions League final, Champions League winner!

“Premier League winner! 12 assists one season, 13 assists the season after!

“Most assists in the Premier League for a defender. Outrageous amount of chances created.

"But yeah he's just good. Leave it out."
