Least reliable used cars revealed along with the ones that never let you down

In the first three months of the year Brits bought more than two million used cars.

Ford Fiestas, Vauxhall Corsas and Ford Focuses were most popular, followed by VW Golfs, Vauxhall Astras and BMW 3s.

But how reliable are they? Because as well as saving cash on their wheels, buying a car second hand has another major advantage over buying new - if you do your homework you can know an awful lot more about the model than something that's just been released.

In fact, to make things easier for people looking for a new car, What Car? has released the full list of the most and least reliable used cars.

Looking at cars between four and 10 years old, it gathered the responses of 18,000 drivers before putting it together - asking them if they'd had any trouble in the past year.

So, which cars are most likely to let you enjoy trouble-free driving and which could leave you going no where but the garage?

This is what they found.
