Learner motorcyclist returns blood-alcohol test over twice the limit

A learner motorcyclist is alleged to have blown more than twice the legal limit after being stopped by police for speeding down the Monaro Highway.

The rider was reported to have been travelling at 101km/h in the 80 km/h zone on Saturday night, when he was stopped by police.

After producing an ACT learner rider licence he underwent a road-side test which returned a positive test, police said.

Police will allege the man later blew 0.117 at Tuggeranong police station where his license was immediately suspended for 90 days.

In a separate incident, police say a male driver tested positive for methamphetamine after being pulled over on Monday morning.

According to police, the man was on bail and prevented from driving when he was pulled over in Greenway at 8.20am.

Police say it will be the man's fourth drug-driving matter before the courts. He was remanded in custody.

Both men will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court at future dates.

Two men will appear before the courts for traffic related offences.
