Learner driver spotted with huge 'dangerous' tower of furniture balanced on roof

A driver's attempt to cut down on removal costs landed them in hot water with police.

Police were stunned when they spotted the 'dangerously overloaded' pick-up truck piled high with junk was stopped at a petrol station in Cannock, Staffordshire.

When they spoke to the driver on Sunday they were left stunned a second time after they discovered only held a provisional licence.

Police shared pictures of the black Mitsubishi Trojan at the petrol station in Cannock with the caption: "Just when you thought you'd seen it all."

The image shows the car on the petrol station forecourt balancing a mountain of wooden slats, plastic chairs, ripped-out radiators and even a bike that was piled so high it almost spilled on to the roof, Birmingham Live reports.

Central Motorway Police Group, covering the West Midlands, said they had a call from Staffordshire Police to give "a bit of advice with this one".

"It was being driven by a provisional licence holder," an officer said.

"Just when you thought you had seen it all."

The cop then followed the post with hashtag #dangerouscondition.

Social media users immediately began sharing the post.

One joked: "Don't know if I should be, but I'm impressed with his stacking and packing skills there."

And another said: "How the hell did they even stack this?
