Learner driver caught by police for fleeing test centre after driving exam fail

A learner driver ‘threw his toys out the pram’ then sped off from the test centre after failing his driving exam.

The man jumped behind the wheel of his yellow Mini and ripped his L plates shortly after he was marked down as a fail for his driving test.

Police say he fled the test centre in Derby to make a cheeky dash home in the car more than 30 miles away in Leicester.

But his plans were foiled by the cops who sat waiting for him on the busy A50 before he could make any headway on his journey.

Derbyshire Road Policing Unit said that the furious learner “threw his teddy out of the pram” after seizing his car.

Officers explained the incident in a tweet yesterday saying; “A50. Fails his driving test in Derby. “Throws his teddy out the pram at the test centre, ripping L plates off, jumping in the car and driving away.

“Heading home to Leicester we waited for him. Stopped, vehicle recovered and reported to court.”
