Leanne Brown reveals sensational return to Real Housewives of Cheshire

Original Real Housewives of Cheshire star Leanne Brown is to make a sensational return to the show for series 14 - and she's about to pack a real punch.

For Leanne is to rejoin the show she sensationally quit three years ago amid her bitter feud with Dawn Ward - to film a real life punch-up with another co-star.

Leanne has signed up to take part in the Boxstar celebrity boxing match taking place at the AO Arena in Manchester on October 2 and will compete against fellow Real Housewife Rachel Lugo.

The two former co-stars met for the first time in months on Friday for a training session at the Fight Factory gym in Gorton where Leanne was shooting her first scenes back on the hit ITVBe docudrama.

Leanne said: "Yeah, I'll be making a little bit of a comeback, but as a guest. I'll be filming a few scenes."

Rachel added: "It's so nice to have her back, so nice, until we get in the ring!"

Leanne is certainly used to on-screen bust ups with the Real Housewives, with past scenes on the show including plenty of eye-popping arguments with co-stars during the six series she was a part of.

Leanne laughed: "Well, we didn't quite get to the sparring point did we, although sometimes I wish that it did!"

Leanne, wife of former Manchester United defender Wes Brown, quit the show in March 2018 to concentrate on her charity work.

She said at the time it was simply too upsetting to continue filming while the long-running "financial row" with her former friend Dawn remained in the hands of lawyers.

Dawn has also since left the show, after filming series 12, saying she is to concentrate on family projects.

Mum-of-three Leanne is looking in great shape for the fight - having enlisted the help of former boxing champ Anthony Crolla, no less, to help with her technique.

Anthony told the MEN he's been most impressed with Leanne's dedication to training since signing up for the big event.

Leanne said: "I'm always up for a challenge, I've done some boxing training in the past, but not like sparring in the ring so it's very different thing for me.

She added: "Anthony has been amazing he's a really good teacher. He's very patient."

Meanwhile mum-of-five Rachel, 46, revealed that it was Leanne who encouraged her to sign up to the boxing event and that she's looking forward to the challenge, which is set to feature in the upcoming series 14 of the Real Housewives.

Rachel said: "I 100 per cent wanted to do it to get fit, I was really struggling to get back in that mind frame of healthy eating again, I just couldn't get out of it.

"It was actually Leanne who called me and said do you want to do it and I thought you know what if it gets me back to that place then great, I'm excited."

When we ask if the ladies will let all their anger out in the ring, they both agreed it could be handy.

"I've got a lot of frustrations, a lot", laughed Rachel.

Leanne said to Rachel: "I can pretend you're a certain somebody, it will make it really easy for us."

Leanne and Rachel, who say they're "doing it for the over-40s women" are the only female bout on an all-star line-up for the Boxstars event.
