LeAnn Rimes has said she is “heartbroken” after being forced to postpone two concerts this week because of “severe illness”.

The 43-year-old singer and The Voice UK coach has had to rearrange two performances in the US, in Spokane and Seattle, to May 31 and June 2 respectively.

In a post on her Instagram story, she said: “Due to severe illness, I am unable to travel and perform this week.

“I’m sorry to share that the upcoming shows in Spokane and Seattle will be rescheduled… also, good news as we will be seeing you very soon…

“I am truly heartbroken to have to reschedule and I am so very grateful for your kindness, and continued support as I recover.

“I look forward to being back on stage and seeing you very soon. Love, LeAnn.”

The American singer confirmed all tickets remain valid for the rescheduled dates, and those unable to attend can get a refund.

Rimes has scored four UK top 10 singles, including a number one with Can’t Fight The Moonlight, and has also had two top 10 albums in the UK.

She has won two Grammy Awards, both at the age of 14 for best new artist and best country female vocal performance, at the time making her the youngest artist to win a gong at the ceremony.

Rimes is married to American actor Eddie Cibrian, and is also known for songs such as How Do I Live, Blue and Written In The Stars, a collaboration with Sir Elton John.
