Mark Cooper, the manager of Barrow, has claimed he does not know the whereabouts of one of his players.
Cooper says that striker Dimitri Sea was given permission to go back home to France last week - but that he has not yet returned.
Cooper made the extraordinary comments on Thursday afternoon when quizzed on team selection issues ahead of his side's League Two clash away at Carlisle United on Saturday.
A perplexed Cooper told local media on Thursday: "Dimitri Sea's gone missing.
"He was expected back from France on Monday, but we’ve not seen him. We don't know where he is.
"He was supposed to be here on Monday and he didn't turn up."

Cooper said that he will consider what disciplinary measures to hand out when the player returns to the club.
He added: "I'm not wasting any time on players who can't help us at the minute.
"We'll see when he decides to come back."
Barrow's website then published an article containing an injury round-up based on Cooper's press conference, and said: "Dimitri Sea is still having treatment on a hamstring problem".
Sea, aged 20, joined the club in October 2020 after a successful trial.
He has scored two goals in 17 appearances so far, most of those coming off the bench.
After impressing on trial following his release by Aston Villa, ex-Barrow chief David Dunn handed him a contract.
Dunn said at the time: "He's looked really sharp in training for the last couple of weeks, so we're pleased to get the deal done.
"We have obviously spoken to the people at Villa about him and they have told us just how big a prospect he was there at one stage so we're really looking forward to working with him."
He has missed the last four games with a hamstring concern.
Barrow are in their second season back in the EFL, having been promoted in 2019-20. They finished 21st last term and are currently 18th in the standings.
