League Two club linked with shock move for former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper

Former Nottingham Forest shot-stopper Lee Camp has been linked with a surprise move to Salford City.

The League Two outfit are looking at the former Derby County goalkeeper as a potential option, according to a report by the Sun, with Camp's contract with Birmingham City set to expire at the end of the month.

Salford are, of course, backed by Manchester United legends David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and brothers Gary and Phil Neville as well as Singaporean businessman Peter Lim.

And a move for a player with Championship wages does not seem to be out of their reach after reportedly launching a swoop for Sunderland's Will Grigg in January.

Camp made nearly 200 appearances for Forest between 2009 and 2013 and has also enjoyed spells with Derby County, West Brom and Norwich City.

Last term the 35-year-old, who turns 36 next month, made 36 appearances for Birmingham City and was one of Pep Clotet's better players during his time at the club.

A move down to League Two would be a surprise for Camp, who has proven he can still operate consistently at Championship level.
