League One transfer rumours: Peterborough star wants out, ex-Bristol Rovers man's SPL move

With the transfer window open and business underway, the League One rumour mill is in full swing.

And with a chaotic and condensed schedule awaiting all clubs thanks to the havoc wreaked by the coronavirus pandemic, clubs are certain to be busy to ensure they have the requisite depth to compete in the second half of the campaign.

Bristol Rovers confirmed their first deal of the window on Monday, with goalkeeper Joe Day joining on loan from Cardiff City, and Bristol Live understands the Gas are not done there.

Siriki Dembélé's impressive performances for Peterborough United are sure to be attracting interest from higher leagues, and that has prompted the 24-year-old to submit a transfer request.

Football Insider reports Rangers, Celtic and Crystal Palace are among clubs interested, and the dynamic attacker has made an effort to force his way out of the club this month.

Dembélé has enjoyed great success up top this season with former Gas striker Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Former Gas striker joins Scottish Premiership club

Life in England didn't quite go to plan for Scottish striker Gavin Reilly, but he has secured an exciting move back north of the border.

The 27-year-old was released by Rovers in the summer after scoring four goals in 34 appearances and had been turning out for League Two Carlisle United this term.

But his deal was terminated on Monday to allow him to return to Scotland and sign for Livingston, who sit fifth in the Premiership.

Pompey defender in demand

Portsmouth have fielded enquiries from clubs in League One and League Two clubs for defender Paul Dowling, according to The News.

Dowling is out of favour at Fratton Park and is eager to get his career back on track with regular playing time elsewhere.

He joined Pompey from Blackburn in 2019, but has failed to nail down a place in Kenny Jackett's side.

Swindon move on to new target after losing out to Gas

On Monday, Rovers completed the signing of goalkeeper Joe Day on loan from Cardiff City for the remainder of the season.

The 30-year-old was also believed to be the top target for Swindon Town, but having missed out they have turned their attention to another stopper.

Football Insider reports Republic of Ireland international Mark Travers is poised to leave Bournemouth for a loan spell at the County Ground this month.
