Sunderland play-off promotion odds after first leg defeat to Lincoln

Sunderland remain confident of overturning their two-goal deficit when they face Lincoln City in Saturday's crucial League One play-off semi-final second leg.

But the bookies don't share their confidence.

Following the first leg at Sincil Bank, which saw Lee Johnson's side fall to two second-half goals, the odds on the Black Cats winning promotion have dramatically changed.

Sunderland were favourites before the first legs but are now ranked third of the four sides involved.

Not surprisingly, Blackpool are the new 10/11 favourites following their thumping 3-0 first-leg win at Oxford, with Karl Robinson's U's now rank outsiders at 66/1.

That leaves Lincoln as second favourites on 11/8, with Sunderland backed at 6/1 to be celebrating at Wembley on May 30.

Of course it's still all to play for at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, and Johnson's side will back themselves to get the win they need.

And they will be backed by 10,000 fans, with the Stadium of Light hosting supporters for the first time since March 2020.

League One promotion odds

  • Blackpool 10/11
  • Lincoln 11/8
  • Sunderland 6/1
  • Oxford 66/1
