The new League One season is now only a matter of a few days away and excitement is building for the start of the 2021/22 campaign.

Dropping down from the Championship are Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United and Wycombe Wanderers.

These sides join the likes of Ipswich Town, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic in a division full of big names.

And according to SkyBet, the Tractor Boys and the Mackems are the favourites for promotion ahead of the new campaign getting going, with Wednesday closely behind.

Charlton and Wigan are both 7/2, with Lincoln and Portsmouth 4/1 to go up to the Championship.

Rotherham and Oxford United are 9/2 and 5/1 respectively. while Ian Evatt's Wanderers are 11/2 to go up to the Championship and achieve back to back promotions in the process.

Bolton are the highest ranked team out of the sides promoted out of League Two from last season, with Cheltenham, Cambridge and Morecambe the three sides tipped to be least likely to challenge for promotion.
