League One goals and results as promotion race takes another twist

Sunderland's draw at Peteborough means their hopes of an automatic promotion is out of their hands.

While Max Power's 87th-minute goal looked to have won the game for Sunderland, a late Matt Godden equalised meant the Black Cats returned to Wearside with just a point.

Here's how their League One rivals got on.

Barnsley remain in the hunt for the title after a 3-0 win at Plymouth.

The Tykes scored three goals in 13 minutes at Home Park to sit two points behind leaders Luton and two points ahead of third-placed Portsmouth.

Alex Mowatt's free-kick added to goals from Cauley Woodrow and Jacob Brown with Barnsley sealing the game inside 28 minutes.

Barnsley have played a game more than their promotion rivals as they look for an instant return to the second tier while Plymouth sit just a point above the bottom four.

Pompey, though, are still in the hunt to end their seven-year Sky Bet Championship exile after a 2-1 comeback win over Coventry.

Brett Pitman's late goal completed the turnaround at Fratton Park after Tom Naylor had levelled.

Jordy Hiwula opened the scoring in the first half for Coventry with the Sky Blues' play-off hopes hanging by a thread.

Portsmouth travel to Sunderland on Saturday after the fourth-placed Black Cats were denied victory at Peterborough and lost ground on the top two.

Charlton consolidated their play-off spot with a 4-0 rout over struggling Scunthorpe.

Anfernee Dijksteel, Joe Aribo, Igor Vetokele and Lyle Taylor kept the Addicks fifth with Scunthorpe a point from safety with two games left.

Southend, who Sunderland face on the final day, lifted themselves out of the drop zone with a 3-2 win over Burton.

Sam Mantom, Harry Bunn and Timothee Dieng secured the Shrimpers their first win since January despite goals from John Brayford and Marcus Harness for the Brewers.

But second bottom Walsall are on the brink of relegation after former loanee Jason McCarthy earned Wycombe, who moved four points clear of the drop zone, a 1-0 win at Adams Park.

The Saddlers are four points from safety with just two games remaining after a seventh defeat in their last eight outings.

Already-relegated Bradford drew 1-1 with Gillingham after Brandon Hanlan cancelled out Kelvin Mellor's opener for the Bantams.

Gavin Whyte's hat-trick earned 10-man Oxford a 3-2 win at Shrewsbury.

Mid-table United had Ahmed Kashi sent off after 36 minutes and Oliver Norburn's penalty and Greg Docherty had put the Shrews 2-1 ahead before the break.

Ethan Hamilton struck with eight minutes left to seal a 1-0 win for Rochdale at Bristol Rovers and all but secure their League One status.

Nathan Delfouneso's injury-time strike also earned Blackpool a 2-1 win over rivals Fleetwood, who had Nathan Sheron sent off in the second half, after Ched Evans had cancelled out Jay Spearing's penalty.
