League One clubs eye up loan move for former Bristol City prospect now at Liverpool

Herbie Kane could be heading out to League One again.

The former Bristol City youngster spent last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers from Liverpool and fully impressed in League One.

It was the midfielder's first proper taste of senior football and he made 49 appearances and netted seven goals to help Donny to the play-offs.

There had been rumours that Championship clubs would be interested in him this summer, particularly former Doncaster boss Grant McCann, who took over at Hull City, but he ended up staying at Anfield.

Yet with the League One transfer window still open, the Portsmouth News report that both Portsmouth and Coventry City are keen on the 20-year-old.

Kane began his career at the Robins before moving to Anfield as a 15-year-old in 2013.

In an impressive feat, he was nominated for the 2018 European Golden Boy award alongside Kylian Mbappe and teammates Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Woodburn.

Despite having been on Merseyside for six years, he has not forgotten his Robins roots.

After Doncaster beat Bristol Rovers 4-0 at the Memorial Stadium last season, Kane posted 'One team in Bristol' on social media.
