League One 2022 fortunes tipped for Bolton Wanderers, Sunderland, Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday

Bolton Wanderers are officially at the halfway stage of the League One season with 23 games chalked off of their campaign in the third tier.

Ian Evatt's Wanderers currently sit 17th in League One in the middle of the campaign.

They began 2022 with a 2-1 loss on the road to league leaders Rotherham United in their first game in three weeks after a trio of fixtures were postponed in light of a Covid-19 outbreak at Bolton.

Throughout the campaign, football statistics website FiveThirtyEight is forecasting how the League One table might finish after the results of every matchday, with the season reaching the climax of the regular season at the end of April before the play-offs.

And as things stand, Wanderers are tipped to end the League One campaign in 14th, between Accrington Stanley and Shrewsbury Town.

At the top of the table, Sunderland and Rotherham are the sides tipped to be automatically promoted to the Championship, while Wigan Athletic, Wycombe Wanderers, Oxford United and MK Dons are predicted to be in the play-offs.

At the other end of the table, Gillingham, Morecambe, Crewe Alexandra and Doncaster Rovers are the four teams predicted to be playing in League Two next season.
