'League of Legends' Patch 26.5 Introduces Corrupted Petricite Skins, Last Hit Assistance Feature

"League of Legends" players are set for a cosmetic boost with the upcoming Patch 26.5, which officially launches on March 4, 2026 (ET).

Riot Games confirmed three new skins: Corrupted Petricite Maokai, Corrupted Petricite Xerath, and Prestige Requiem Sona, with hints of additional chromas and cosmetic releases tied to the update.

Corrupted Petricite Skins Expand Champion Aesthetics

The Corrupted Petricite theme brings a darker, magical corruption-inspired aesthetic to Maokai and Xerath, transforming their in-game appearance with dramatic visual effects.

Meanwhile, Prestige Requiem Sona arrives as a premium cosmetic, featuring upgraded visuals and refined design elements that set the champion apart in matches.

For collectors and cosmetic enthusiasts, Patch 26.5 promises some of the most anticipated skins of the season. If you love dark-themed skins, this is one of the perfect patches to take advantage of them.

Last Hit Assistance Improves Gameplay

Beyond cosmetics, Patch 26.5 introduces Last Hit Assistance, a gameplay feature aimed at helping players secure minion kills more consistently.

According to Filmogaz, this is designed to improve early-game farming, ensuring gold acquisition and lane control, while making the game more accessible for newer players learning core mechanics.

For some players, it's funny to see Riot finally finding ways to engage newer players in MOBAs through the new feature. According to another player three months ago, the last hit assist feature may not come to life. However, it officially came this week after long months of waiting.

"It works, myself and a few friends are very much more interested in the game whenever they add WASD to EUW and the Dynamic Camera," one LOL player wrote.

While you're waiting for the server updates, you can "2XKO." It's a perfect time-killer for those who love fighting games.
