League of Ireland schedule for remaining fixtures will be released on Monday

SSE Airtricity League clubs will find out the scheduling for their remaining fixtures on Monday at 6pm.

With the Covid-19 pandemic causing the season to be halted in March, the Premier Division clubs have 13 or 14 games remaining which will be played off over two rounds.

Last week the FAI rubber-stamped a July 31 return to action, with the original format of promotion and relegation retained, despite opposition from the majority of top flight clubs.

It is expected that the fixtures will be played off over three or four days each week, from Friday to Sunday or Monday, to allow for the streaming of matches. The FAI Cup first round draw will take place at FAI HQ, Abbotstown at midday on Monday.

Due to the shortened season, the FAI Cup will only have SSE Airtricity League clubs participating in this season's competition.

All 19 clubs will be involved in the draw with three fixtures set to be drawn out and the remaining 13 clubs set to receive byes.

The draw will be live-streamed on the FAI's Facebook page.
