Leading workplace products supplier expands into Poole warehouse

One of the UK’s leading marketers and manufacturers of workplace supplies has agreed a deal for newly refurbished warehouse and office space in Poole.

Poole Bay Holdings makes and stocks a range of more than 30,000 products for businesses, such as furniture, shelters, fire and safety signs and workwear, which it then sells through its group of 12 websites.

The firm has signed for more than 60,500 sq ft of warehouse space at a unit at Fleets Corner Business Park in the Dorset town.

It has also taken on around 6,300 sq ft of office space at Fleetsbridge House on the site, which adjoins the warehousing space through a first floor bridge.

The company said the deal marks a “significant expansion” for its operations as it continued to experience rapid growth in its 30th year of trading.

Poole Bay Holdings chief executive Mike McKenna said: “We not only needed new warehouse space, but modern office space. Fleets Corner Business Park has both uses, making it the perfect location for our company, now in its 30th year, to continue to grow.

“The fact that our office space on the first floor of Fleetsbridge House is connected to Unit D by a footbridge will be a huge logistical help for us going forward.”

Poole Bay Holdings is the latest organisation to take space at Fleets Corner Business Park, after cosmetics retailer Lush, also headquartered in Poole, opened a 40,000 sq ft recycling centre there in July last year.

Other new occupants to arrive at the park last year included telecommunications service provider CityFibre and luxury outdoor garden furniture manufacturer, Rattanpark Furniture, which chose the park for its new headquarters. Amenities at the site include a Travelodge hotel and a Starbucks.

Stephen Ellis, senior investment manager at the park’s landlord Federated Hermes, said: “This major move by Poole Bay Holdings, which follows on from an extremely busy year of lettings activity at Fleets Corner, is testament to the significant work Federated Hermes have done to modernise and establish Fleets Corner as the prime business park in the region.”
