Leading sports data analyst gives Europa League prediction - what happens to Chelsea, Arsenal, Valencia and Eintracht Frankfurt

Nate Silver has given his opinion on who will win the Europa League.

Silver was named one of the world's 100 most influential people after correctly calling the outcomes of the 2008 and 2012 US elections, but his background is actually in sports data.

His website, Five Thirty Eight , has now created a data model on who will win the Europa league.

Chelsea are favourites for the tournament, being given a 39 per cent chance of winning the final - they also have a 67 per cent chance of overcoming Eintracht Frankfurt to reach the final.

Valencia are second favourites, with a 25 per cent chance of winning the tournament - they have been given a 53 per cent chance of beating Arsenal in the semi-finals.

Arsenal are third favourites with a 21 per cent chance of winning the tournament and a 47 per cent chance of overcoming Valencia to reach the final.

Frankfurt are third favourites - they have been given a 15 per cent chance of winning the final and a 33 per cent chance of knocking Chelsea out in the semi-finals.
