I would like to nominate our CEO Sean Mallon for the small business leader of the year. Sean has worked in the business transfer market for 10 years and had become disillusioned with the state of the industry. Many small business owners are desperate to sell when they approach a business transfer agent to sell their business.
And unfortunately a lot of these agents exploit their desperation by asking the seller to pay a registration fee, a fee to market their business, sign a long contract (12 to 18 months) and pay a hefty commission of 15% on sale price.
Sean always had ambitions to radically disrupt this industry by helping small business owners to move on without paying a ridiculous amount of money to agents.
Over the past eight years he has built a very successful agent, which has a great reputation in the industry. However, it wasn’t until last year that he fully realised his goal of making it far easier and cheaper for small business owners to sell their business.
He launched Bizdaq, a SaaS business, in November and he aims to save small business owners millions over the next 10 years. Sean inspires our team, making sure we make it far easier for business owners to sell their business. Meanwhile, as a leader, he inspires us to achieve personal and professional growth.
