I’m nominating myself as it’s only me who runs the business (at the moment!). I am a busy mum who is passionate about the new business tommy & lottie.
I am constantly juggling the business and my two children’s (Tommy and Lottie) needs. New products are due out this year and they will be made in Britain. All our products are well made and are made by people who are looked after well in the work place, not just in the UK but globally. I will be exhibiting at our first trade fair in July to grow the business and get new stockists.
Last year, we donated some of our toys to the charity Kids Co to give as Christmas presents to children. I’ve been working with students at Oaklands College and gave them the opportunity to design an animation (it’s nearly ready!) to show customers why our t-shirts are ethical and sustainable from crop to customer.
This way, they get work experience by dealing directly with me, plus they get a piece of work that they can use in their portfolio for the future. My aim is to look at creating apprenticeship opportunities for our future entrepreneurs when the business is ready. The business is not just about the quality products, it is also about giving something back to the world.
