Our CEO Ed Fletcher has broken down the conventions of a standard law firm to enable us to place the client at the heart of everything we do, instead of fitting the client around the needs of the business.
Ed operates an open door policy where any employee can drop in and see him if they wish. Ed’s approach to face-to-face communication also aids employee engagement; if Ed wishes to see an employee they are not summoned to the Director’s Suite by a phone call or email, but rather are visited at their desk by him personally.
Ed also regularly drops in to departments for a catch up and to ask how everything is going. He pays particular attention to new employees settling in and prides himself on knowing every member of staff by name and knowing which department they work in.
Every month Ed hosts an informal meet-and-greet coffee morning, and all new employees are invited to attend.
In the last 12 months, the company has employed an additional 120 people, taking the total to over 260 employees. We have expanded our head office from 16,000ft to 24,000ft – a testament to Ed’s vision of becoming the UK’s leading law firm. Being in a non-city centre location, Ed is incredibly proud of the talent we attract, due in part to his introduction of flexi hours and remote working.
