Alison Edgar is managing director of Sales Coaching Solutions, a sales and customer service training and coaching provider.

Alison was labelled as one of the UK’s Top 10 business advisers by small business support platform, Enterprise Nation. Across the UK, small businesses were asked to nominate an adviser that had helped them grow their business, and Alison was chosen as an outstanding expert. She was also one of the finalists for Business Person of the Year and Small Business of the Year in the Wiltshire Business Awards.
Alison’s lead coach is none other than her former boss and manager when they both worked for Yellow Pages. Alison says: “First rule of hiring; employ someone better than you – that’s exactly what I did. Lou is a phenomenal coach.”
Alison’s second employee was employed under the Grad for Growth programme that’s run by Business West. Alison says: “Young minds are eager to learn and develop. Alex is intelligent and excels in her job role. She has been promoted a total of four times in six months.” Alison believes communication and honesty are key to effective teamwork. Every Friday the team gets together to evaluate their performances and discuss next steps.
