Le’Veon Bell predicts 17 touchdowns for James Conner in 2019

The Pittsburgh Steelers posed a simple question to the fans on Tuesday. How many touchdowns will running back James Conner score in 2019? Hundreds of fans chimed in with their predictions. One prediction, in particular, caught our eye when New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell said he thought Conner would have 17 touchdowns this season.

Say what you will about Bell and the damage his holdout did to the 2018 season but he genuinely is rooting for Conner to do well and it is hard to be mad at him for it.

It is a fascinating contrast between how Bell and Conner interact considering the circumstances and how wide receivers Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster have under very similar circumstances.  Bell seems to be Conner’s biggest fan and despite the level of adulation, Pittsburgh fans have given him as Bell’s replacement. Meanwhile, Brown is taking shots at Smith-Schuster on social media despite Smith-Schuster doing nothing to him.
