Le'Veon Bell out against Dolphins with illness

NEW YORK _ Le'Veon Bell won't play against the Dolphins on Sunday. The Jets said Saturday that their starting running back was out with an illness; he had been listed as questionable after missing practices on Thursday and Friday.

Bell has struggled in his first year with the team, averaging a career-low 3.2 yards per carry. He had been slightly more integrated in the offense before only getting 10 carries in an embarrassing loss to the Bengals.

The 3-9 Dolphins are looking to pull off a season sweep of the 4-8 Jets. Bilal Powel and Ty Montgomery will likely take up Bell's load, although the two only have 51 combined rushing attempts this year in the Jets' pass-heavy offense.
