Coach John Harbaugh believes that free agents will sign with the Baltimore Ravens because they want to play with quarterback Lamar Jackson. And judging from Jackson’s latest activities on social media, there might be one big name free agent that wants to join him on the team in 2019.
Bell noticed that Jackson began following him on Instagram and this is how the veteran runningback reacted. Admittedly, it’s a big leap in logic to say that Bell will sign with the Ravens because Jackson is following him on social media. But other reactions from Bell on social media at least indicate that he’s thinking about it.
And as if there wasn’t enough to get the Bell-to-Baltimore hype train going, some current Ravens have already responded to Bell’s tweet.
The idea of Bell and Jackson in the same backfield is a tempting one. We’ve already seen how dangerous Jackson can be when he gets running. Bell has 5,336 rushing yards and 35 rushing touchdowns since he came into the league. He’d also be a solid weapon for Jackson in the passing game, with 312 receptions for 2,660 yards and seven touchdowns in that span.
Of course, the Ravens front office still has a say in this and it’s unlikely that they’ll jump to making a big decision because of fan hype or who Jackson chooses to follow on social media. But that’s not going to stop the rumor mill from going nor will it stop fans from dreaming after Bell got the hype train rolling. And we can certainly be sure that the 2019 offseason will be a very interesting one.
