Le’Veon Bell claims Steelers tried to trade for him before deadline

There were rumors circulating ahead of the NFL trade deadline that the New York Jets were shopping running back Le’Veon Bell. But Bell took that to another level when he talked addressed the speculation. Bell said that via his agent, there were several teams who inquired about trading for the talented but troubled running back.

And according to Bell, the Pittsburgh Steelers were one of those teams. Yep, let that one sink in a bit.

The Steelers and Bell parted way this offseason when the two sides finally gave up on finding middle ground on a new contract. They spent two years trying to work something out but it never materialized.

Do we believe Bell that Pittsburgh really considered trading for the former Steeler back? Or is this simply posturing by Bell?
