DINARD, France -- Foreign Minister Taro Kono held talks with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Friday in Dinard, France, where Le Drian expressed his concern over the continuing detention of former Nissan Motor Co. Chairman Carlos Ghosn, who has been rearrested for alleged financial misconduct.
The talks were held before the meeting of foreign ministers of the Group of Seven advanced nations, which started in the city on Friday.
In his response to his French counterpart, Kono apparently explained that the investigation has been conducted based on proper procedures.
