Every home cook’s favourite status brand, Le Creuset, is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a trio of London dinners, a first for the brand.
From July 8-10 at 180 Studios on the Strand, three acclaimed chefs will each take turn to cook for guests, offering a three course meal. Each of the chefs, the publicity meal insists, has been chosen “based on their strong personal connection to Le Creuset.”
The series will be called Le Creuset La Carte. Tickets are £175, and bookings are only available for couples, tables of four, and solo diners. Besides the three course supper, guests are promised a drinks pairing, a gift bag of Le Creuset items, and “a complete immersion in the vibrant world of Le Creuset.”
Beginning the series is Julius Roberts, the popular chef and former farmer, who documents life on his Dorset small holding for more than a million Instagram followers (and did so likewise for the popular TV show, A Taste of the Country). Details of all the menus are being kept under wraps, but Roberts is known for this commitment to British, seasonal ingredients, ethically-sourced, and his straightforward, comforting food.
Following Roberts on July 9 will be Rahel Stephanie, the Indonesian chef celebrated for her deservedly popular supper club Spoons, frequent collaborations and guest chef series — most recently at Tatale — and known too for her cooking zine Pedas. Stephanie’s cooking is known for its boldness with spice.
On July 10, the series will close with James Cochran, the man behind the now-closed 12:51, who most recently was executive chef at The Brave. Cochran is known for his Scottish-Caribbean cooking, which reflects the influences of his father and mother respectively.
A spokesperson from Le Creuset said: “Our dinner series, La Carte by Le Creuset, is a truly special way to honour this incredible milestone, offering an unprecedented opportunity for our community to immerse themselves in the rich heritage and vibrant future of Le Creuset.
We're thrilled to partner with some of the most innovative chefs to create truly unforgettable dining experiences.”
