LDA razes under-construction apartment in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: Tightening noose on unapproved structure development in the city, Lucknow development authority on Sunday, raze an under-construction apartment following the objection of archaeological survey of India.

The property was developed by former BSP MP Dawood Ahmad near a protected site of 'residency'.

Earlier in March month the LDA had razed the fifth floor of the property located at river bank colony and claimed that it had approved map for (G+4) upto fourth floor structure only.

The entire project was developed on around 3,600 sq feet area.

On June 24, the ASI had served notice to the former MP after he failed to remove the illegal.

“He was given sufficient time to raze the unapproved structure, but he didn’t therefore LDA along with the ASI team had to do the job,” said a senior official of ASI.

“Complying to ASI notice which was marked to district administration, on Sunday the illegal structure was demolished,” said DM Abishek Prakash.

On Saturday evening, district magistrate Abhishek Prakash who is vice chairperson of LDA, had issued fresh instructions to identify illegal residential colonies, upload their list on website and also paste a similar list at the registry office to alert homebuyers about the fraud builders.
