LUCKNOW: Moving a step further towards developing a Jurassic era theme park in the city, the Lucknow Development Authority has allocated Rs 5 crore for the project.
In June this year, TOI had reported about LDA's idea about the park in which residents could experience and explore theories of evolution with Jurassic age dinosaurs. The park is proposed to come up in Janeshwar Mishra Park in Gomtinagar.
Speaking to TOI, executive engineer, gardens, LDA, Awaneendra Singh said, "During ameeting with additional chief secretary Sudhir Garg on Thursday, LDA has approved allocation of Rs 5 crore for Jurassic park ," he said.
The park would have models of dinosaurs, reptiles, early man and exhibits revealing how life originated. All models would be made from scrap, used tyres and other waste products, he added.
Further, 3D animation screens will also be introduced along with motion or simulator chairs to give real life adrenaline pumping experience of the Jurassic age. Meanwhile, LDA is also working on an idea of developing a fragrance park in the city, just like the one in Dubai.
