LBC listeners in hysterics after political editor's four-year-old son steals the show

Radio listeners were left in hysterics after a Brexit segment was interrupted by a presenter’s four-year-old son.

LBC political editor Theo Underwood was half way through his report on the latest news from Westminster when his son started making noise in the background.

The incident left presenter Eddie Mair in fits of giggles, despite his colleague’s best attempt to continue with the programme.

As Theo tried to carry on despite the distraction on Friday evening, Eddie stepped in to explain to listeners what they were hearing.

He said: "As many listeners have said, when do you get time off and you're speaking to us from home now - never mind Brexit, just paint a picture of what's going on in front of you.”

More laughter ensued, with Theo’s son turning on taps and continuing to wreak havoc.

Theo added “that's my 4-year-old, Eddie trying to flood the garden” while Eddie joked about this week’s leak in the House of Commons.

Despite the commotion, Theo persevered and managed to wrap up his report while Eddie continued to giggle.

The incident also prompted laughs on social media, with many calling it “heart-warming.”

Twitter user Thessalonion said: “Bless him, Theo. Your son just reminded all of us that there is life beyond and in spite of Brexit.”

Gemma Louisa added: “Usually the only laugh I get when hearing about Brexit is a type of doom tinged nervous hysterics, I think all Brexit related matters should be accompanied by a rogue four year old haha! So cute.”
