LBC Host Stunned as Immigrant Confesses to ‘Playing the System’ Live on Air

Things got seriously heated on LBC when a listener called in and casually admitted to “playing the system” to get into the UK, leaving host Tom Swarbrick and listeners gobsmacked.

The caller, who had emigrated from Zimbabwe, explained during Monday’s (May 12) show how he managed to move to the UK using a visa from a care company set up by his cousin. The catch? The company didn’t actually exist.

Within three months of arriving, he quit his care job and jumped from construction to Amazon before landing a better-paid role in banking. “I only worked in the care sector for like three months and then I quit,” he told Tom. “I went to look for a job elsewhere… and then I found a job in the bank and I’m living my life, effectively”, reported the Express.

Tom, clearly taken aback, asked how many others were in the same boat. The caller didn’t hold back: “I have my two sisters and two brothers… we have five effectively coming from the same family in Zimbabwe and we have all moved [to the UK].”

Tom then pressed further: how could someone afford to relocate to the UK on a low-paid care job? That’s when the truth really hit home.

“It was very easy,” the caller, Jamie, said bluntly. “My cousin, who was here, helped us to set up a company out of Zimbabwe… Actually, her care company is not working… it doesn’t exist. So she just helped us to move to the UK.”

At that point, Tom cut in, stunned: “So your family member set up a company that acted as a provider of carers through which they recruited you from abroad, and you went into a care home for precisely three-and-a-half minutes or whatever, and then looked for other work?”

Jamie simply replied: “Yes.”

“So you manipulated the system?” Tom asked. Without hesitation, Jamie confirmed: “Absolutely.”

Listeners were quick to vent their fury on social media. One fumed: “This is one of the reasons why after importing 185k foreign ‘carers’… we still have 130k vacancies in the care sector.”

Another added: “Pro immigrationists, are you not seeing yet how we are being taken for fools? Our laws and generosity are mocked.”

Many couldn’t understand why Jamie would openly admit to gaming the system on live radio. One post summed it up: “He admitted it on national radio. Set up a dodgy company to get his siblings over and quit care work. Madness.”

The confession has reignited debate about the UK’s immigration policies and raised serious concerns over loopholes being exploited right under the radar.
